How it will happen

There are classes to "give it a try." It takes a long time to master the art of wheel throwing but if you just want to try it, this is your chance.

The evening includes a detailed demonstration from the instructor on proper technique in centering, throwing and shaping on the pottery wheel. Pairings then take turns throwing on a wheel to make their first piece. A second demonstration will be provided followed by an opportunity for the duo to make a second piece. At the end of the class the pair can select which glaze they would like the instructor to use on the pieces.

Additional Information

  • The workshop is conducted over the course of four sessions, once a week

Intro Pottery Wheel Class

This is a short "Introduction to the Pottery Wheel" class. Perfect for brand new beginners that want to give it a try and those with a bit of experience to get a bit more practice and instruction. You will try and make a bowl, mug or vase, decorate and do some carving and finally glaze your pieces. It is a lot of fun and a bit messy.

At Vibe, we acknowledge and hold deep respect for the Indigenous peoples who have inhabited and continue to enrich the vibrant communities and the lands on which we operate. We pay tribute to the traditional territories of the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples, and we recognize that these lands are home to the Treaty 6, Treaty 7, and Treaty 8 First Nations. They are also home to Métis Settlements and the Métis Nation of Alberta. Vibe operates within Regions 2, 3, and 4 of the historical Northwest Métis Homeland. We are committed to fostering a culture of respect, understanding, and partnership with Indigenous communities as we work, play, and innovate on these lands
